Pendulum thinks. Pendulum Industrial Works executes. The Pendulum Vault is our vibe. The Pendulum Bubble is the synthesis of everything.
One studio, four expressions of the same curiosity. Here is what each one does, and why it exists.
Pendulum is the architecture and design studio where ideas originate and problems get explored. Sports facilities, civic work, master planning, residential and interiors, run from Kansas City with offices in Greenbelt, Maryland and Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
Every project begins with what we call a Small Big Idea: a thoughtful observation, a question worth asking, or a problem waiting to be solved. That discipline has a name, and it is S.C.O.R.E. A ballpark’s impact should extend beyond the field, and so should an architect’s obligation.
Industrial Works is where our ideas leave the screen and meet material. It is the Kansas City shop where studio ideas get cut, welded, assembled and proven before anyone commits them to a building. Architect led, maker driven. Design. Fabricate. Innovate.
The best design does not stop at drawings. The most meaningful ideas cannot always be validated on a screen or communicated through construction documents alone. They need to be held, tested, fabricated, assembled, challenged and refined. Pendulum imagines what could be. Industrial Works proves it can be built.
The Vault is the lifestyle expression of our curiosity, design culture and point of view. Motorsport born streetwear from Kansas City, designed by an architect of stadiums and built for the paddock.
It is less about cars than about style: strong geometric pattern work, inspired by being branded by blending in, made to be read up close. The Vault is derived from the center of everything we do, straight from the heart of it.
The Bubble brings design thinking, fabrication, experimentation, lifestyle and social purpose together in one tangible product. It reimagines small scale housing as a starting point rather than an endpoint: a complete, self-contained living core that provides the essentials of home within a compact footprint, with room to expand, adapt and evolve over time.
Rooted in dignity, sustainability, flexibility and connection to place, it can answer a wide range of needs, from intentional living and accessory dwelling to transitional housing and disaster recovery.
Anyone can buy a stock anything off the shelf or off the showroom floor. We are inspired by the curated experience, and we apply it to our architecture, our cars, our clothes, everything.
None of it is empire building. Each part exists because a client needed something that did not yet exist. These are not separate pursuits. They are different expressions of the same curiosity.
