A 5,000 square foot industrial building in the redeveloping East Crossroads, owned by automotive and motorcycle enthusiasts who wanted a workplace that earned its keep as a place to think, not just a place to sit.
Materials on the interior vertical surfaces were repurposed from the original structural beams and walking surfaces, so the budget bought character instead of finishes. Custom steel and glass separate without blocking sightlines, keeping the floor plate open and legible. The result runs public, semi private and private space across one 5,000 square foot plate, and reads authentic rather than overdone.
The openness of the plan and the raw repurposed material make the interior feel authentic, and the owner's personality carries across every surface. Each zone reads like a different room of a house, which is what keeps a 5,000 square foot office in use all day instead of only at desks.
