Vanderbilt Health Training Center - Nashville Soccer Club’s Training Facility
Antioch, TN
Role: Owner’s Representative
Size: 48,000 SF | Cost: $40M
Pendulum continues to diversify its expertise in sports architecture. Principal/CEO Jonathan Cole served as the owner’s representative for Major League Soccer’s (MLS) Nashville Soccer Club Training Center, which opened in Spring 2024. Cole acts as the direct client liaison for Ingram Industries (Team Owner), working with architect of record Moody Nolan and general contractor Pinnacle Construction, among others. This role underscores Pendulum’s commitment to collaborating with clients who value diversity and inclusion among service providers.
The Vanderbilt Health Training Center is a 48,000 SF, $40M world-class facility on a 15-acre site in Antioch, Tennessee. It features three training fields, along with state-of-the-art spaces for the first team and staff, including locker rooms, training and performance areas, player lounges, dining spaces, team meeting rooms, and coaching offices. Floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the building provide clear views of the pitches, enhancing the overall training environment.
In partnership with Vanderbilt Health, the adjacent 10,720 SF health clinic offers comprehensive on-site sports medicine services through Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). The clinic provides the team with access to physicians, athletic trainers, nutritionists, and sports psychologists, ensuring top-tier care. This collaboration reflects a shared focus on excellence, player well-being, and community engagement.
The facility also includes a 3,000 SF maintenance building with direct access to the fields, making it a vital resource for Nashville SC and VUMC’s sports medicine programs. By serving athletes of all ages and abilities, the center bolsters Nashville’s reputation as a professional sports hub while demonstrating Pendulum’s ability to deliver complex projects that exceed client expectations and have a lasting impact on the community, whether serving the role of architect or owner’s representative.
